The BEST Home Theatre Setup Sub $1000

Hey all! I’m moving to a new apartment in September so I’m doing some research for our home theatre setup.

Im looking for the BEST television to play movies on for under $1,000, 55 inch is generally the perfect size for the city (nyc) you won’t get much more space to need something bigger. Size is definitely flexible and it’s for watching movies only pretty much. (Im not a fan of that hyper-realistic effect you see on some tvs)

in addition whatever speaker or sound system setup you think would best accompany it.

Any other reccomendations are welcome as well! From couches to coffee tables or tv stands!  (And anything else you can think of, like plants or carpets.) However all thats not included in the Budget. Just television and speakers.

so in short, best tv speaker combo for watching movies and tv series on netflix, hbo, etc. for under $1k at around 55in viewing distance.

My biggest concern is quality control and support with this company. Not sure if it’s worth the risk. I may get it and backcharge if they refuse to support it.

Not exactly answering your question but what shape is the room and where will the TV be in it? If your TV is going to be in a corner, or the room is a weird (non rectangle) shape then a soundbar and sub would be your best bet rather than speaker surround.

As far as TVs go, I'm a big fan of Sonys KD-55XE9005 which is in your budget ( on a good deal anyway)

This. The Sony is better and they have higher QC standards.

I don’t have an interest in surround if it’s not wireless. Cables are a hassle. Room will be square.

Wireless surround speakers do exist but obviously still need mains powered. i get the impression you are best sticking to a sound bar with wireless subwoofer. Something like the Yamaha YSP-2700 maybe.
