Please help, I'm not getting any audio output from my mic on my PC!

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

Go into your Privacy Settings in Windows and make sure the MIC is turned on. If its off, it wont actually give you any sound.

I can't get any audio output from my microphone in Windows 10.

The microphone is a Blue Snowball. I have tried uninstalling drivers and letting Windows reinstall, tried restarting, tried updating Windows, tried different USB ports, but on other computers it works fine?

I'm really confused. Any help is very much appreciated as I've been trying to get this to work for ages.

make sure it is set as default?  Maybe a screenshot of your playback/record would help.  So I can see what it is showing.

when you speak into the mic does the green bar actuate?  also there is an option to turn on hear yourself talk that usually helps until you have it the way you want it.  I recommend testing with headset.  You might try deleting blue snowball from the input/outputs as well as in audio and game controllers.  Plug it back in and let it pick itself up again.  There have been such issues with those.

Fixed it, thanks! So I was testing using Audacity and the default Sound Recording window, and neither showed the green bar articulating. Now I found out that the "Allow apps to access your microphone" was turned off, so after turning that on I got the sound working perfectly in Audacity!

Now here's the weird thing, although it's now working, the green bar in the default Sound Recording Window still isn't articulating. It's odd, but at least it's working now.

Thanks to both of you ^
