1. Budget & Location

I'm in the US, and I need to keep the budget for the computer components in the $1100-$1200 range to also get a 1440p 144hz monitor, for a total of $1500 USD

2. Aim

Gaming, Video editing, the computer also has to game well while also streaming.

3. Monitors

I currently have 2 1080p 60hz monitors, I want to upgrade one of them for a 1440p 144hz monitor. I don't plan on using more than 2 monitors.

4. Peripherals

I have all the peripherals I need other than the 1440p 144hz monitor, and Windows 10.

5. Why are you upgrading?

My current Rig can't handle the workload I laid out above, especially not 2k gaming.

6. Other comments:

Edited because I didn't think to just post the pc part picker list, sorry about that.

You will need a higher frequency RAM to pair with it, tbh 2666mhz is kinda low for Ryzen builds, if you can go with at least 3200mhz that would be better. Also, can you squeeze in around $40-50 for an MSI Gaming Pro X470 motherboard, as I don't think this motherboard has got good power delivery for that 105W CPU.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm not sure where else I could cut to get the money for the x470

Would 3000hz be a good price performance compromise for the RAM? The Corsair Vengeance 16gb set is only like $10 USD more.

The PcPP link is not working. You need to link us the permalink of the build.

Updated the link for everyone.

I could cut out the SSD and just use the HDDs I already have for now to get a x470 board. I found an ASRock x470 board for $150 is there a reason I would want the MSI x470 instead?

PSU's aren't my main thing, so I know there's some good options for 10-20 USD less. That's just a first run.

Oh yeah, what games do you want to run at 144Hz? And are you going FreeSync?

Change the title to 1440p gaming build.

2K made me think you had a budget of 2k lol, cause 2k isn't a resolution.

Games like Witcher 3, FO4, Monster Hunter World when it comes to PC and Cyberpunk 2077 whenever that comes out.

If I can get a 1440p monitor that supports FreeSync at my price range I will. The AOC Agon 24" I was looking at doesn't say it does, but it says it has "Adaptive-Sync" so I was hopping not to need it.

I see you want to spend more on the gpu than the cpu. Why other than price, would I want go with the Ryzen 5 2600 instead of the 2700x I have listed?

You listed a 1100-1200 Budget. If you're going for 144 Hz display, you'd want either a RX Vega 56 or a 1070 Ti, at minimum. Might actually be able to squeeze a Vega 56 in there, given prices have come down a bit.

But for the other things I want the computer to do, streaming/editing wouldn't a beefier cpu handle those things better?

Streaming, yes. Editing, depends wholly on the program.

Then, no. Either the 2600X or 2600 will work just as well in everything but the Encoding phase. Because Adobe is optimized by monkeys for the Mac.

Managed to get a RX Vega 56 build under $1200. I'm kind of impressed, as that really hasn't been possible since it launched.

Doesn't the 1070 Ti perform better though?

Vega 56 is more of a 1070 competitor iirc.

The 2600 will perform well in streaming. With my slightly OC'd 1600 I stream and game just fine.

Depends on the game and the settings. If you're on a 144Hz monitor, you're going to want to turn down most of the AA other other features for the raw speed anyway.

Skip out on the cooler as the 2600x comes with a decent cooler and get an x470 mobo.

2600X doesn't need an AIO anyway. The silicon will hit a voltage wall before you'll hit a cooling limitation. (It's probably only true this generation.)

And next generation it will be nice to have a x470 motherboard compared to a b350.

Good point, I was going to mention it's probably worth waiting until July to purchase this. B450 boards should be out by then. Possibly with the next Nvidia generation as well.
