WHY AM I GETTING HORRIBLE FPS WITH 1070ti

Hey Guys,

A few months ago I bought a new Graphics Card THE GLORIOUS 1070TI. I know a few streamers that I watch that have 1070's or 1070ti's (they have same or lower clock speeds than mine) I see them playing and livestreaming games (Mainly Fortnite) at about 100-120fps. I am using the same settings as them in game and in obs. I even have a lower bitrate and quality then them (cuz i have trash internet). WHY AM I GETTING 30-50fps with drops down to 10. 

My Rig

i7-7700k 4.2GHz Quad-Core (Not Overclocked)

Corsair H100i v2

16GB DDR4 RAM

Galax NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070ti

Check drivers and temperatures.

are you sure that they are playing AND streaming from the same computer? have you checked your results with UNIGINE benchmarks or another standardized benchmark?

I personally know these streamers and they do not use 2nd pc's. I will benchmark it aswell

I have updated all the drivers and the temperatures are usually within the 60-70 C under load

These are my Benchmarks on Unengine Valley. These were taken while obs was recording

1) Check for viruses/malware

 

2) Check if your using all of your cores to play

 

3) Do a disk clean up because if it builds up fps drops overtime.

 

4) Defrag your HDD if you have one

( IF ITS A SSD DO NOT DO IT )

 

5) Check for unnecessary processes in the background

 

6) Delete stuff you don’t need

 

7) Disable services you don’t need

 

8) Delete all your temp, %temp% & prefetch

 

if all doesn’t work it could be the brand galax. I am not familiar with the brand but I’ve heard bad reviews about them.

That seems about right, try to measure it without streaming and compare that to another 7700K + 1070ti system, I think the 1070ti bench should be around 80fps (only running heaven ofc)

Galax is not the issue

Galax is a well regarded brand. It's not known under that brand in Europe, though, due to some legal bs. In Europe they're KFA2.

Is there any intensive background tasks while playing your game?

Is it slow while your doing other stuff than gaming?

• Sorry I have taken so long to respond I have been caught up with exams but I usually just have Chrome (1/2 tabs open) OBS and Discord when I am streaming. I am only noticing the low FPS while streaming
