6700K after a year

Hi everyone!

I've owned a 6700K now for at least a year at 4.6 @ 1.290v stable.

I recently scored a Noctua NH-D15 from a friend who gave it to me as a present.

I managed to OC it to 4.7 @ 1.31v with LLC5.

Ran RealBench and got temps hovering over 74-78 degrees tops for an hour stable.

How good is this voltage for this OC and what I can do to improve upon this OC?

System Specs:

Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

CPU: Core i7 6700K

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1x16GB @ 2400 MHz

Case: NZXT S340 | Corsair AF 2x140mm Intake | Corsair AF 1x120mm & 1x140mm exhaust

GPU: MSI GTX 970

Surprisingly, the NH-D15 managed to fit snugly inside, provided you only use 1 DIMM.

Many Thanks!

IXD

Voltages and temps look pretty good. [Based on my experience] At 4.7GHz I probably wouldn't go any lower than 1.31V or else you're likely to run in to stability issues.
Temps are really good for air, but it's a Noctua NH-D15 so it's expected.

I'd probably leave as if since it is stable and temps aren't an issue.

Took me a while to stabilize it. Trial and error for a few hours. Started off at 1.35 then slowly dropped down to 1.31.

How did you get your 6700k stable and what are your settings?

I'm running stock at the moment. I don't have many CPU intensive tasks that require an overclock so I haven't really bothered with it all that much to be honest.
I have run at 4.6GHz at pretty close to what you had yours running at previously.
Don't recall ever running at 4.7GHz though. I fiddled with 4.8GHz a while back, but I think I gave up trying to find the sweet spot of voltage and just went back to 4.6GHz since the difference wasn't worth the effort.

After a week or so I can let you know what Gigabyte Profile settings are, once I install my old setup into my friend's build.  I had my i7-6700K running at 4.6Ghz stable, since August 2016 up until a month ago. Never had any issues. The motherboard I had, came with a i7-6700K @ 4.6ghzz dedicated profile. I seem to recall trying 4.7/4.8 for fun, but didn't have luck keeping stable. It's a great CPU, none-the-less!
