hey guys,

I simply want to burn NOOBS to an sd card. All the instructions and documentations are referring to img files but the downloadable zips from Raspberry Pi don't contain the proper img's at all.

Somebody help me here please? Cause I'm quite anooyed that something so simple is so complicated.

Format the SD card as FAT32, then simply extract the files into the root directory of the SD card (extract the files into the main directory of the SD card itself, not any folders on the SD card)

Which instructions, and from where are you downloading from?

First hits via Google bring up these two pages:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/noobs.md

I took the trouble of downloading the zip (Offline and Network installation) and checked the contents to me it seems quite straightforward; exactly like CmzPlusHardware said.

So you are probably using outdated and / or instructions referring to different download source you are using?
