Any experiences with the noise level? Some people seem to have problems even at idle https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/XPS-9370-Fan-Noise/td-p/5803616

It's common with all 8th gen U series quad cores. It's just their design. For that budget, you can't have it all :)

Consider business laptops. If you want better display, opt for the higher resolution panel - some models are equipped with good IPS FHD panel (good sRGB coverage) as default but this is rare with business laptops

Lenovo Thinkpad T480, T580, X280, X380 Yoga

HP Elitebook 840 G5

Dell Latitude 7290, 7390, 7490, 7390 2 in 1 (TB3 option only available with vPro CPU - 8350U, 8650U)

Dell XPS 13 9370 (soldered RAM)

Lenovo Yoga 920 (soldered RAM)

HP Spectre x360 13 (soldered RAM)

LG Gram (older models doesn't have x4 PCIe lanes TB3)

Lenovo Yoga 730 13 (be aware of fairly small battery, soldered RAM)

HP Spectre 13 - be aware of fairly small battery, soldered RAM

SCHENKER SLIM 13 N130WU (N131WU) - be aware of small battery

Lenovo Ideapad 720s 13/14/15 and Yoga 720 13 all have x2 PCIe lanes TB3

8250U/8350U don't have any significant performance difference compared to 8550U/8650U (besides 2MB less cache) due to cooling and TDP (firmware limitations)

Toshiba and Fujitsu also have decent models, though you need to look at Notebookcheck reviews yourself, I know less to nothing about them
