What do people think of getting a refurbished GPU?

It's from a trusted shop (ebuyer) and it's about £50 less than getting it new (which at the price point of a 1060 is pretty decent imo)

Is it worth it?

Thanks

Yes it comes with 1 year shop warranty and free returns (I might have to pay postage unless it actually is broken)

I have recently took the chance and bought a refurbished GTX 1070 Strix 8GB myself.

On arrival I noticed 2 resistors snapped off along the PCI-E side of the card.

I immediately thought that it was dead and wasn't going to work but to my surprise actually does work. Upon further testing I have recently found that the GPU is running at X4 although in a X16 slot.

I have no idea if this is due to the resistors being broke off the card but I suspect so.

I would suggest ONLY buying a refurbished card if it's from a somewhat fairly reputable seller and comes with a warranty like mine did just in case something does go wrong you can then send it back.

Hope this helps you

Nope. 3 were from Newegg. One from a pallet of 40 cards.
