I currently have a 1050 ti right now but planning an upgrade... its either 1070 or 1080 but 1070 is fine, or an amd card since i would really like to buy that monitor its perfect for the price but it has freesync so.... if i go Nvidia i might get the freesync to waste. it's either 1070 80-100 fps with some screen-tearing on some games or an Amd card for 50-70 fps without the tearing, i really dont like vsync it has slow input lags and an occasional stutters so yeah, i'm a bit skeptical about this one :/

Rumors are saying nvidia and amd might launch new GPUs in a few months. It might be worth waiting.

So i'm planning to buy a ROG STRIX XG27VQ Freesync Monitor and i wanted an upgrade on my graphics card.... i was looking for a GTX 1070 or RX580 but considering the raw power of 1070 it exceeds better than the rx 580 but sacrificing the freesync capability. i wanted more help on picking the right ones i hope some can help me figure it out :)

I would recommend getting the 1070.  I have a 1070 hooked up to my MG248Q (144Hz as well), and there is little to no screen tearing at all.  Freesync is pretty crappy anyways, so you're not missing out on much.

Maybe wait for next gen if you're not in a hurry. What GPU do you have right now?

Freesync is just as good as g sync. The only downside is that there isn't the guarantee that the monitors will have a large freesync range; however, this monitor has a 48-144 hz range which IMO is pretty good.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Try swapping it out your 1070 for an RX card
