Upgrading from 970

I've been thinking of upgrading my GPU from a 970 to something better and personally i feel as though the 970 is starting to lag behind with newer games coming out.

Has anyone got any good recommendations and any advice on how i should approach this?

Worthwhile upgrades are a 1070/Ti, 1080, or 1080Ti

Rumors indicate new GPUs may launch this summer, so along with the falling GPU prices it might be better to wait a few months (if you can).
