Quick question about cpu

Go to solution Solved by Brooksie359,

The 2600x is a solid cpu. It has really good multicore performance and really good gaming performance. The 2700x only beats it in multicore. If you don't need a super large amount of multicore performance i would go for the 2600x. The 2700x is really only for people who really need a lot of multithreaded performance because the 2600x still has alot with its 12 threads.

I decided to build new gaiming pc but i don't really know that cpu to pick only hard task that cpu gonna get its gaiming , but later down the line its gonna be my new server cpu

Looking for recommendations , thanks in advance

my monitor supports only 60 fps and i dont play competive titles am only playing RPG or strategy games

And am going to combo 1070 gpu with this cpu

And am playing on 1440p resolution ultrawide lg

What's your budget? The absolute best for gaming is the 8700K.

For just CPU or CPU + mobo + RAM?

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Just cpu

If you need multi core performance r7 2700; if single threaded performance matters I'd go i7 8700 or if you're willing to OC an 8600k

If you aren't going for high fps then ryzen is the better buy. I will give you better performance in multicore while giveing good performance in gaming especially if you aren't trying to hit high fps.

like Brooksie said, the AMD is gonne give you better multicore performence which will be advantageous when you decide to use that CPU for your server like you said.

The 2600x is pretty good, it should last you a good long while.
