splitter problem

a few weeks a go i bought a new splitter and since then i have been noticing worse ping and lag spikes

is the problem related to it?

i use my splitter as an extension to the main wire

so will using connecting the router directly to the main wire and using wifi adapter on the pc solve this problem?

If you had problems only since then, it's the splitter.

Ask your ISP to up your speeds? Did you downgrade? If not, they aren't supposed to do that.

A cable splitter will cut the signal strength no matter if you use both sides. On top of that not all splitters are the same, some will not work with digital equipment.
