Is my PSU enough?

Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

I'd remove that OC on your CPU and then keep the VS until you can afford a better unit.

Hi there, it's my first time posting, I wanted to know if it's really necessary for me to change my PSU since I'm low on money.

This is my PC:

Corsair VS550

MSI Z370 A-PRO

Intel i5 8600k overclocked at 5Ghz vcore 1.360 AVX -2
Hyper 212 LED

ASUS Strix 1060 6GB

And my case has 2 fans in it.

I'm really afraid of my PC degrading over time since I've heard the VS series is kinda bad and even worse when it comes to overclocking.

Thanks in advance.

You can afford a 1060 and Coffee, you can afford a decent PSU. What country do you live in?

A third world country
I wasn't really aware of how important a good PSU is until just now.

For 10 euro more or the same price u can get a cx450m. The vs550 is a really low tier psu.

The cx450m or cx550m are 8p plus bronze and halfly modulair. Never cheap on mobos or psus :)

Yea, unlucky for me I already bought the VS550

My question was more of will the VS550 be able to handle my actual specs without the risk of damaging my build.

It can handle your specs. If the PSU dies because it's bad (VS series is also known as Very S***) then your components might die with it.

Cannot you return it and get a Corsair CX (gray label, not green)?
