Good & cheap tablet with a digitizer + stylus

79wjd

In college I started to use a tablet for taking handwritten notes and really preferred it over pen and paper. I'm no longer in college nor do I have a need to write a lot, but I do like to occasionally scribble down ideas depending on what I'm doing as I find it helpful sometimes. So to that end, I'd like to find a tablet + stylus, but since I don't plan on using it intensively I'm not interested in spending the $400~ an iPad+Pencil would cost me.

What I want:

  • Ideally an 8"~ screen, although up to 10" would probably be acceptable (especially with smaller bezels).
  • Feels snappy
  • Android (I'm not touching Windows with a ten foot pole) -- I would prefer a newer version of Android or at the very least support for Lineage or something.
  • Good looking screen
  • Excellent palm recognition
  • Ideally a stylus that stores in the tablet
  • I'm willing to buy used off eBay (so the price when new isn't necessarily an issue)
  • Preferably something that doesn't feel cheap/plasticky

Nvidia Shield, the original one not K1

Mine (the one w/o internal stylus) is decent, I like it and rather fun to use.

It doesn't use an active stylus though.

Mine has a stylus only option (which I would show via video, but stupidly misplaced the pen...), so not sure if the original one has it too (see below). So while not a active stylus it would otherwise prevent anything else from.

Not sure if a devious cat could destroy your work or not (with their pads on their feet), but I doubt you'd permit that :P

Ok just tried my Stylo 3's stylus it works with it as well, and my hand was leaning on it too w/o issues. tho if you do try to break it it seems to stop functioning till you lift and replace the stylus xD (this might not be a issue with the proper one however)

Beyond that, I'm not sure. I'm a little busy till months end as well... But these guys are $300+ CAD on ebay There is currently one on ebay shipping from UK but it's the original.

Based on GreenBot it can be enabled. So for $200 +- (assuming that's the winning bid) or $250 USD (mine which has no stylus tho :(

This list I found might be useful (might not be too)
