Thicc fan recommendations?

Rob Walsh

Hello, I was looking at overkilling my h100iv2 with some thick fans that move a lot more air, anyone have any recommendations? I used to have one a lot like linus had in the video where he annihilated a banana, and i cut my finger on it. I want two more slightly larger ones than that

The fan I had was almost 2 inches thick. it moved as much air as a box fan and kept my h60 rad at or below 60c

Well those are only 38mm so about 1.5"

I'm not sure why you would want to or consider a fan like that but if you want server type fans that are capable of out performing those single blade delta fans you can get counter rotating fans such as theses:

sweet can have my own personal jet engine.

Also note any of the fans listed here would blow out the fan headers on the motherboard, they need to be connected directly to a molex connector.

More like it's own dedicated PSU, that thing draws at a max 264W on it's own :D

Here's a google sheet for conventional, consumer-grade PC Fans

If you're looking for crazy (destroy your motherboard/needs a separate psu), look at either these DC fans or these AC fans.

I'd really recommend something in the consumer list; for the other high-airflow fans are annoyingly loud. You may not find them loud right now, but believe me - after a couple weeks, they'll be your bane.

Fan Comparisons          F@H          PCPartPicker         Analysis of Market Trends (Coming soon? Never? Who knows!)

Designing a mITX case. Working on aluminum prototypes.

Open for intern / part-time. Good at maths, CAD and airflow stuff. Dabbled with Python.

Please fill out this form! It helps a ton! https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/841400-the-poll-to-end-all-polls-poll/

Yeah 48v DC would require a bunch of messing with connectors too.

iirc UPS batteries have 48V DC out so maybe you could hack such device. I saw people turning old broken UPSes into 48V DC converters quite easily

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example.
