Hello everyone,

I would like to ask for your opinion on whether it would make sense for me to upgrade my mouse and get a new one. I am currently using a Razer Ouroboros and have been using it for about 4 years if not more. The mouse as itself aint that bad though I am feeling a bit of drifting when playing games, especially when playing shooters whether first person like Far Cry and Crysis or third person like Fortnite as example. Its hard to describe what it really is but its as if the mouse would move faster or slower than usually, the precision of the mouse is inconsistent despite being always at the same dpi setting. It is most noticeable in shooters but also sometimes when navigating the browser and doing things such as closing tabs, pausing videos and simply navigating smaller interfaces which require precision due to their rather small buttons. I am a high sensitivity user, I am at 2560x1440 (27 inch) and I am using 3700 dpi. I have to apply more force to my arm and hand in order to be more accurate with the mouse, or at least that is what it feels like. Due to that I am considering to buy myself a new mouse, I can't decide between the Rival 600, Corsair Glaive RGB and the Roccat Kone Aimo. I am leaning most towards the Rival 600 due to its adjustable weight and outstanding sensor. However, I am not sure whether a $100 mouse upgrade would be worth the money and that I would feel a significant enough difference. Then again, it could also be the mouse pad, which is a Steelseries 4HD and not the mouse itself. However considering the fact that the mouse is rather old and it has a laser sensor and not one of those modern optical ones, it could be indeed the mouse causing this issue.

So should I buy a new mouse? if yes then which one out of the three would you recommend?

Thanks in advance, I am new here btw :)

Please avoid writing huge text walls that becomes tiring and troublesome to read, it's hard to go through all of it, always write short and clear.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Got anything to say about the actual topic of the thread?

Drop the mousepad for a bit and see if you still have issues. If you do I would just buy a new one although I haven't used any of those so I cant give a good recommendation. I use a g700s and absolutely love it though

Fanboys are the worst thing to happen to the tech community World. Chief among them are Apple fanboys.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try using the mouse without the mousepad and see how it performs, will go from there.

Honestly razer products don't last long from my experience (i don't even want to talk about it) but I think you should try them out for yourself first, at first you might not be used to any of these mice's but after a while you will shoot as well as last time.

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 @3.85Ghz, MotherBoard: Asus ROG Strix X370-F, RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB 3000Mhz

GPU: GALAX GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti EXOC White, Case: NZXT S340 Elite Matte White, Storage: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB, PSU: Corsair CX650M

I am not a fan of Razer products either to say the truth, went from a dead Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 to a Das Keyboard 4 Professional this year and I am in love with it, a much better keyboard. The Ouroboros was gifted to me, so I got kind of stuck with it since.

Btw. I have to point out that I am using the mouse wired.

I do not have experience with the other brands that you suggested but you might want to try out logitech as I am using the G403 at the moment and it's soooo good.
