Sony Vegas can't open VF files

HELP, Im using sony vegas for a school project and when im rendering it, sony vegas decided it cant open it. What should I do?

Render it as a different file type. Otherwise Sony Vegas can be buggy as hell when it comes to file types

No I can't open it as in I can't open the finished project

You cant open the original project you had the files in?

Well you may have a corrupted data set on your hands and you may have to start over, may i reccomend Davinci resolve as a better alternative thats free
