Windows Update failing constantly

RileyTheFox

Hey.

I am unable to update Windows. Every time I click Install in the Settings app it will count up in percentages then give me an error code (0x800f081f)

I've tried everything I could find on the internet. The Windows Update Diagnostic tool, DISM commands in command prompt but nothing works. I just can't update Windows and I need the security/feature updates :/

I've also tried use sfc /scannow but that found corrupted files that couldn't be fixed...

What do I do?

If the corrupted files can't be fixed, clean installing windows is pretty much the only option.

Google "windows 10 update reset script" download it and run it as administator.

After that restart your computer and try running updates again.

Main PC = I5 7600K @4.5ghz, Asus Gtx1070, 16GB DDR4 3000Mhz, 480GB SSD, Msi Z270 Mobo.

May be an issue with the .NET framework.

https://www.repairwin.com/fix-windows-10-1709-kb4054517-fails-to-install-0x800f081f/

Follow that guide to enable it in Turn Windows Features On or Off

If that doesn't work try to reinstall it

I mean, I can't even install it. I'm not having an issue with the features of the update, it's actually installing it that's the problem.
