I'm selling my current computer to a fan of mine. Since the bitcoin rush I would make a significant profit on my graphics card when I sell it so I want to upgrade to make it a streaming/ gaming pc.

I'm thinking the max I'm going to spend is $1000

MB: M5A99X Evo R2.0

GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3gb

PSU: OCZ MOdxStream Pro 700w

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 8gb

CPU: FX-6300 Vishera 3.5ghz

Case: NZXT Source 210

Would love any comments or suggestions to this build to make it better for about the same price or lower.

I'm not very knowledgeable about Bitcoin, but if I had to upgrade something I would probably buy another 780.

I mean If your main purpose is to Bitcoin mine then that's how you would get more MH/s

Can you post your current card + that part list on pcpartpicker.com? Would be nice to know how much you're spending on those parts exactly.

I feel like you can stretch your budget further, but that build looks good. Definitely feel like you should be going for an FX-8000 series or at least an i5 over the 6300, though.

- FX-8320 for cheaper, much better streaming/recording over the pricey Intel processors (it's not a $$$ thing, 8320 blows them away)

- Less efficient at video rendering than an Intel build

- 100% OCable (and recommended, that 99FX board is made for it, same with the h80i cpu liquid cooler and R9 290)

- Great performance, even at 1440p gaming

Not the absolute best for upgrades, you'd want a better power supply to support future crossfired 290s.

Edit: This build was $20 cheaper 5 minutes ago, I swear.

Go for what the person above me suggested. Streaming/recording etc uses CPU, so you will need a nicer CPU and that GPU is comparable to the 780, you typically see better performance know the 780,but not by much

I am good at computer

I would rather have a Nvidia card than an AMD card because I'm going to be using Shield/Shadowplay.

Also there is no guarantee that the memory you listed would work with that motherboard.

Why.. do you say that? The RAM bit.

If you want an NVidia card and plan on using Shadowplay and whatever else, you might as well scrap it all and go intel, honestly. You're definitely not going to get better performance with that over this when gaming just because of Shadowplay.

Edit: To put it into perspective, you'd have to dump like 90%+ of your budget into intel + Nvidia to compete with this in just fps, if not go over budget.

That ram isn't on the supported list of RAM by the Mobo manufacturer and all the reviews of that memory are more than negative.

I'm not going to be exclusively using shadowplay, it is just an option I prefer OBS, the main reason is the Shield.

Also that video card you linked is ~3 eggs , I rather not chance it and get a card I know will work.

Another thing to consider is how loud the the 290 is which will not be good for recording, while still only having similar performance to the 780. Also, if you plan on building this computer soon the massive price hike on AMD cards makes it seem just not worth it. On your original build you are missing things such as a cpu cooler however and putting a bit more cash on a processor may help if possible but isn't necessary.
