DVI no signal but works with VGA

ok tldr post

It was just another day i was gaming peacefully and suddenly my screen started to flicker bcoz of which i had to shutdown. this was strange but never occurred again so forgot about it.

few months later......

i start my pc to find out that it wont turn on i mean after windows loading it wont go ahead just keeps flashing for some moment then boom (not literally) no signal. after few restarts windows goes in troubleshoot mode with error video  tdr. After many iterations finally booted in safe mode, browsed on net read that windows has stopped support for amd 2000,3000,4000,5000hd series gpus don't know if that's true. so then had to uninstall amd drivers and replaced it with Microsoft display adapter driver something. so now the display is back on bt resolution is fucked up. searched for solution tried many didnt work. Thought may be the cable is faulty so taught of replacing it and luckily had a extra dvi cable plugged in boom again no signal checked the cable with different gpu and same monitor its working fine. With vga the display works bt not with dvi...

 

also as mentioned earlier may be windows 10 has removed support for amd drivers so installed windows 7 (dual boot) and windows 7 shows even more fucked up display colors distorted and screen appears broken.

 

conclusion:

so i am now stucked on windows 10 at low resolution with vga with basic driver can't update those as updating leads to no signal ...

 

specs

sapphire ati radeon HD 5450  (i know its ancient bt i played gta 5 on it believe it or not  and the bottleneck was 4 gb ram not the gpu)

benQ T900hd

 

ps: its my fathers pc now i have bought a new one  for myself :)

 

 

what should i do....??

@bad_ass_1996 The only thing i can suggest is to try another cable if that doesnt solve it either the DVI port on the monitor or card has conked out.
