What where the temps in the past? You say its been running hot lately, but what are you basing that off of, actual temperatures, fan noise, how hot the laptop is to the touch?

If your laptop has dust filters on it you can clean them.

If you are really concerned, you could replace the thermal paste.

Also worth remembering that many laptops will have really shallow fan curves until the temperatures really start climbing, since most manufacturers realise that so long as the components are within their actual thermal tolerance, people would prefer a quieter system.

As long as it stays under TJmax and doesn't throttle (heavily) under load, its fine. It'll likely get a lot louder once the temperatures start to climb.

Modern laptops will run uncomfortably hot...it is just their nature...If the air intake on it is on the bottom of the laptop, try to run the laptop on a flat surface as much as possible so the intake can draw plenty of fresh air. On that thought...verify the laptop's intake isn't obstructed with gunk, dust, or small animals.

Some other things you can try and if the laptop isn't under any sort of warranty you could disassemble it, clean out any debris from the cooling fins and fan, then replace the thermal paste on the CPU.

There's no place like ~
