It's yeah, 1/3 speed, sometimes 1/2, if you press properly and stuff.

 

P20 pro front fingeprint is even faster, and extremely sensitive.

The in-screen fingerprint sensor is impressive.

On another note I just found out yesterday that the iphone X doesn't even have a regular one (yea I'm stupid)..... everyone says face ID never fails O.o

It definitely does fail more than TouchID did and it's a bit slower, although it generally fails when you're holding your phone at an odd/steep angle or half of your face is hidden. I switch between an iPhone 6 and my X as I use the 6 for work and I'd say FaceID is somewhere between TouchID 1st gen and 2nd gen in terms of speed/reliability.

The false positive rate is higher, but that doesn't say anything about the false negative rate.
