Beefy as in size, not power. Theres probably smaller models for it.

It'll work. Note that the B250 platform isnn't really a good buy anymore. Look around for used 680s, 770s and 960s. Of course there is a risk with going used but you will see a huge performance increase over a 1030. The 1030 performs very roughly the same as the PS4 you are likely replacing

well its a cheap one that i could find that supports everything that im going to buy with my pc so ill probably end up upgrading it later down on the track but its fine for now isnt it?

The motherboard? I really wouldn't bother with it. A cheap Ryzen board and 1200/ whatever the Ryzen+ equivalent is will provide a much better upgrade path with similar performance now. 

 

If you head over to New Builds and Planning with a build list and websites you can buy from then someone will be very happy to help with a build that's very recent and fits in your budget.

GT1030 is overpriced for what it can handle.

look for used GTX750 instead. Usually see them priced cheaper and they are way more capable if your PSU can handle the power draw
