Audio Problems Windows 1803

Go to solution Solved by sidtechster,

Had same problem. Got it fixed.

Went to Windows Settings > Apps. Uninstalled Realtek Audio driver (or whatever).

Reboot. Let Windows automatically pick the drivers.

My working solution to this problem: Please reply if it helps you.

I found the solution and working for me. Completely uninstall the drivers and device. Install drivers from the following link. Lenovo have updated drivers for Windows 1803.  https://support.lenovo.com/in/en/downloads/ds120824 and pick the drivers available from the list for sound video and game controller. manufacturer Realtek and click have the disk. navigate to C:\DRIVERS\WIN\Audio\WIN64 and select the inf being shown there. and choose Realtek high definition driver. Click yes to update driver warning pop up. and Restart the machine.

Same issue for me with realtek audio. Headphone and Speaker where the same output. For some reason 1803 change setting in my realtek manager. The option "Mute the rear output device, when front headphone plugged in" was the one selected. The second option need to be selected to have the option to choose wich one you want

Ahh. I don't have that advanced settings menu. So I just use the windows drivers. ie. uninstall realtek -> reboot -> go to troubleshoot and let windows install driver.
