So do I, but I don't need anything higher-res to notice 240p isnt optimal.

and 1080p isn't even close.

It depends on how close you are to the display, that's why smartphones have the same resolution as monitors and televisions.

I am not going to be buying another 1080p monitor though, that's for sure. Much better alternatives, such as cheap 2.5k Korean panels.

Well that yes, if all displays occupy the same FOV in fornt of you. but bigger screens occupy more FOV usually. Atleast in my lifestyle.

It really depends on the screen size as you probably realize, but at standard monitor size. Yes, I most definitly, without a doubt no question can see. I can tell the differences just changing game settings from 1080p to higher.  I am also part of the 1600p master race so I am slightly crazy.

Are you kidding, of course I can tell.

I use a 1920x1200 monitor at home, but at work I use a 1600p monitor (photo editing) and the difference is extremely apparent.

I will never use a screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, but I am (for gaming) pretty lenient on the actual resolution, as long as it's not lower than 1200p.

16:10 master race.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I had a 1440p Dell briefly before I sent it back because of IPS glowing and backlight bleeding (along with its replacement for the same issues).

The size difference between my 1080p monitors was pretty darn awesome.  Pitty IPS sucks in my opinion due to lack luster blacks and glowing and in my case, backlight bleeding issues.

The IPS glow is present in all IPS screens as far as I'm aware.

And also no IPS have deep blacks.

It's not something I can live with.

Most likely the one I bought and no, it doesn't in comparison to VA/plasma's.

The glow ruins them.

It is bad in my opinion compared to even VA panels (plasma is far better but the whites suffer)

Only talking blacks here mind you, colours where excellent, but when it came to watching a movie or something, could easily see the glowing and the grey blacks.

I see your stance now. I agree in the sense of sitting in a completely dark room watching a movie the blacks do suffer a little bit. But I don't watch movies on my desktop too much anyways, and when I do it's not 100% dark and i can't notice it.

My Dell UltraSharp u3011 30" and I don't notice any backlight bleeding. Of course that is over a $1000 monitor, so maybe cheaper IPS displays are worse.
