Psu cable cant reach cpu power

So my 8pin from my power supply is to short to reach all the way to the top of my case to the cpu power, to make the cable longer could i just cut some cable from an old power supply then splice the cable from the new one and solder it to make it longer? Its a cheepo psu and i have no money right now need a fix so i can use my system pls help omg bbq.

 No but seriously any input would be appreciated :)

usually you get an extension with the case when its too big. at least with mine...

i wouldnt u could potentially ruin whole pc, electrocute your self or even start a fire better waiting until u have funds than having to buy a new computer.

Maybe it' older and designed for cases with no cable management and a top mounted psu. That happened with me so I just had to run it trough the case.

Can you run it over mobo, not under it? And soldering cables together might not be such good idea if you haven't got any experience from such things.
