Windows 10 pro keys.

ReapyBoi

Recently i have come across a substantielle growth in the market for windows 10 pro keys, why is this? my Research has lead to me seeing behind the product available on amazon or from windows them selves, simply put, people are buying the keys dirt cheap in bulk(roughly £10 for 11 codes) followed by applying these codes on cheap 4GB USB's then selling them on for £20 a piece, what are the issues concerning this and why has this become a growing trend.

Windows should be free already for what's worth it so I really don't care about these, if you want a cheap key get it, I just don't advise any one to use cracked versions because those can contain malicious keyloggers and such.

Interesting point.  I wonder......

Could MS be having a fire-sale right before announcing windows will be free?

They could still make money on subscriptions for Office, Etc.

Microsoft nowadays has incomes from so many different markets that Windows even if still somewhat relevant being still the ONLY OS you have to actually pay for is kinda ridiculous.

  1. The issues concerning this are usually that the Windows copy may be cracked, or just completely illegitimate. They may work, they may not work at all. As mentioned above by @Princess Cadence, the cracked copies may contain keyloggers or other malware.
  2. It's become a growing trend because of how popular Windows is, IMO.

Microsoft has been charging too much for their OS. People buy keys for personal use and may end up reselling them. I actually just bought three keys for 10 Pro off r/microsoftsoftwareswap to see if there could be any issues.

Side note: I really hope Microsoft starts to charge $50 for Home and $100 for Pro rather than the $120 and $200 that it currently is. The prices are becoming ridiculous given that I could use my volume licensing to purchase a ton of keys and then resell them later.

I don't mind paying for windows OS because at least then I am entitled to be outraged if I ever saw an ad or promo or microsoft only feature. A 'free' OS from them would probably be the cringiest thing ever (bing only, ie, clippy prime etc)

They're MSDN keys that get shared/resold a ton of times, and eventually get blacklisted and all the machines that use them unactivated.

Only person that makes money from that are the key sellers. You may as well just pirate Windows for what it's worth.
