Whitelist??

Hello everyone so I been reading & watching videos discussing "white listing" I've read/heard if you have a hp laptop from 2011-12 for ex and you attempt to run a 1050 acer graphic card it will not work due to "white listing". From what Ive seen they implemented white listing a short time after a up rise in people sticking higher performance graphic cards in older pc by attaching through wifi port hence making no need fora 500$ external gaming machine when you can do it for $230. I would luke clarity on this information thank you for listing to my ignorance

Yeah people have connected to the wireless card slot which is x4 so it's slow. Someone on the forum did it with a macbook a while ago

Whitelisting and blacklisting are terms used when something is accepted or denied by wider range. Whitelisting in that sense is quite opposite as being whitelisted means part would get passed whatever is used as benchmark/check without any issues. While if it was blacklisted, it would even be allowed to run check/test.

 

Those terms are more often used when talking about brands, stores, software licenses, website addresses (anti-virus software) and such.
