Can wireless mouse get a virus

Ok so I was told by my friend that the teacher was trying to turn off my chrome book when I was in the restroom and my wireless mouse was still plugged into the chrome book and he tells my she got mad because the chrome book won’t turn off due to my mouse and she said it was because of a virus is that even possible for a chrome book not to turn off due to a wireless mouse???

if the mouse detects movement, the computer wakes up.

no virus on the mouse. what needs to happen is in power options she need to turn the wake on mouse input off

Ok so the mouse doesn’t have a power button at all it’s turns off automatically when not used after some time
