Hi guys! So basically, I'm trying to look for a new gaming laptop. Some of my requirements are:

- 120hz panel (depends)

- gtx 1060 6gb

- a good screen ( i don't really know the technical terms)

-sgd 2000max

- wld prefer to have rgb lighting but that is really optional

Some of the games i play r mostly open world like witcher 3, ffxv and other times fps like payday 2, killing floor 2, cod. So really do appreciate if yall r able to leave me some advice into which laptop to get and what to look out for and if some requirements r really unnecessary. Thanks! Hope the rest of ur day goes well

I'm being lazy, so I found a list of 120Hz screen laptops: https://www.gentechpc.com/Laptops-with-120Hz-screen-s/152.htm

Most appear out of your budget ($2000 SGD is about $1500 USD), and I don't know their availability in Singapore.

What are your reasons for buying a gaming laptop instead of a desktop PC?

A lot of my friends bought gaming laptops when they were in high school but later came to regret it when they entered college with bricks for computers.

I already have a laptop dedicated for school. I personally just prefer to use a gaming laptop rather than a desktop due to the limited space in my room

Note: Not every laptop with 120Hz panel is good. Buying a gaming laptop isn't just looking at the specs.

If you can't provide some links of online stores then I would not be able to help you to find the good choices.

But in singapore there isnt much online shopping for electronics, if it is then it is all the more high end departmental stores that most of the time offer killer prices. Thus, only looking for like advice in what model have ur used or been across that yall find good and can recommend or advice in general.

If you want max GPU performance, Dell 7577 with 1060 Max-Q or Lenovo Y520 with 1060 Max-Q (be aware only 3GB VRAM), however they don't have 120Hz panel option, only entry level IPS (not excellent IPS either).

If you can settle with 1050TI, go for Dell 7567 (IPS), Dell Vostro 7570 (Inspiron 7577), Lenovo Y520 and Acer VX15. Acer Nitro 5 and Aspire 7 needs repaste. If you really need 120Hz panel then go for MSI GE Raider. HP Omen 15 also a good choice, however it has OKish cooling and Omen lineup has a reputation of being unreliable in the past years.

Also consider custom laptops from aftershock pc:

1. Apex 15 (Mechrevo Z2) with 8750H+1050TI (can choose 144Hz panel)

2. W15 Lite (N950TP6) with desktop i5 8400+1060 (don't get the i7 8700, 65W TDP will limit performance), can choose 120Hz panel as well. Repaste is recommended (no need LM).

TLDR: If I had to choose, the best choice is W15 Lite.

OKish. Take the W15 Lite, it's a solid laptop.
