GPU recommendations

Hello, my R9 290x seems to have died, and so I am looking for a replacement/upgrade. The problem is that I don't really have a massive budget and certainly don't want to pay the ridiculous prices GPUs are selling for right now.

 

So what can I get that will:

1) not under-perform compared to my old GPU (cause that would really suck)

2) last for at least a year or two without being completely outdated (I don't feel like just getting another R9 290x tbh)

3) cost as little as possible, or preferably below 400€ (give or take)

 

I'm also hoping to run Star Citizen, so while that shouldn't be a problem for a card fitting my criteria, I guess it's something to keep in mind.

 

P. S. I have an AMD FX-8350 CPU, so that's fairly old, in cases there's any compatibility issues (though there shouldn't be, right?)

A second hand GTX 980 Ti seems like the card you're after.

The 8350 makes things complicated, I am very hesitant to even recommend a GTX 1060 because of the 8350. But If you really want a better GPU just get a 1060 3 GB I suppose

The most card for your money new would be a 1070ti.  Used a 980ti.  Before putting either of those in your system, I would consider a new CPU and MOBO.
