The reason I ask is because I almost didn't today as I was installing my first monoblock I installed the thermal pad on the wrong component lol :)

worst case scenario indeed.  With any luck you'd just have an unstable system due to improper power delivery and crashes.  Jayz has commented that he forgot them on a monoblock or two and will be revisiting them.  Also Gamers Nexus has said that power delivery systems are rated for a rather high temperature and exceeding that temp only shortens the life of it.  So if your power delivery isn't in contact with some kind of cooling I would say it's time to tear the system apart and fix that no matter the outcome.

Good thing I was taking my time and looking over instructions lots of times before mounting the monoblock and calling it a day the worst.
