I just built a PC for my friend and surprised him with for his birthday...plot twist...He wants it as a HTPC.My question is there any way by which I can use the PC as a hybrid when needed switch to HTPC mode and when needed as a PC.

I read about OSes for the same and would prefer not to do a second OS on it.

Uh, Just use it as is? I dont see a reason why you would need a different OS xD .

What, do you honestly think you need to be in another OS to be an HTPC? You can launch Kodi from within Windows? What's wrong with that?

you can install something like Kodi to Windows if he wants a media center type thing...

But he could also just use it for what it is
