Hello everyone, I’m having a serious issue with my PC. It will randomly “lock up” and I have to manually power it down and restart it. It does not blue screen it just stays at the current window. When I brought it to get work done they said it was an overheating problem so they added more fans but that has not fixed the issue. The computer will freeze at random times. (Startup,gaming-either during high performance games like overwatch or PUBG but also on games like Minecraft, runescape, or just in the internet watching YouTube videos)

I am running out of solution I feel like and I was wondering if anyone here may be able to help I’ll post the computer info below thanks for your time.

processor: AMD FX-9590 8 core 4.70GHz

ram: 16gb Corsair vengeance

64-bit system(obviously) running windows 10

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970

Monitor: 1 display and it’s a 50inch Emerson TV plugged into via HDMI

thank you

Joe

Similar issue on my Phenom 955 system. It'll lock up and whatever sound is playing in the background will screech til I turn it off. Problem is the board in my case. 2 Dimm slots dead, it's 10 years old, was dusty as all hell when I got it so couldve been shorted somewhere.

If you're suspecting heat, get some ASMX4 thermal paste and a beefy cooler like a 212 evo or an AIR. 220w is no joke when to comes to heat dissipation .

Also check your RAM. Could be a dead or dying stick somewhere
