HDD to SSD Transfer

TheNinjaNextDor

I want to get a 500GB SSD to replace my HDD but I don't know how I would transfer the data. Whats the best way? Also, I would have 3 SSDs and even if I didn't get a new one I want to put my SSDs in raid. What's the best raid without a raid card and how do I do it?

Samsungs disk magician software is great for transfering data from one drive to another. Not sure about raid cards. I know LSI do solid raid cards. Pretty sure Linus himself has one.

With your motherboard you could RAID two of the SSD on SATA 6Gb/s ports. If you wanted to RAID 3 SSD you would have to use the Intel ports, one being SATA 3Gb/s which would then be the speed at which the entire array operated.

Unless the SSD you have now are 500GB, you would not want to include them in an array with the new unit.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
