I've been shopping around for a new desk chair, hoping for one with good ergonomics.

Everywhere I look I find those racing chairs from DX Racer and related brands.

Are they worth the money? Is there a specific chair I should look into?

No, they're not worth the money from a quality and comfort standpoint. You're paying for the looks and "gamer" related branding. If you want something that looks like a motorsport seat, then maybe the price for that is worth it to you, but you're not going to be needing the heavily bolstered sides for all those lateral Gs you'll be experiencing sitting at your desk.

If you want to get a good chair, go to a store that has a large selection of chairs and sit in them until you find one that is comfortable and the right size for you. Buying chairs online is pretty hit and miss, as different people find different things comfortable.

I'm pretty sure the reason why popular streamers have them is because they get them for free or heavily discounted, then other people that watch them want the same stuff. That being said I have tried one a little bit and it wasn't bad (for me at least), however I didn't get the opportunity to sit in it in front of my desk and game in it. A good chair is going to be expensive either way, I got lucky and managed to scavenge a used Savo chair from an office nearby where I live, I really love it and I don't care someone else has sat in it for probably years.

I gotta agree with Oshino Shinobu, I bought an Autonomous Ergo Chair 2 online & it's still pretty painful. Although from what I can find, I'm the only one who's ever complained about any sort of discomfort in it. So that IMO means it's still something wrong with my back. Maybe I just have RSI really bad from several years in a sunkin in swivel rocker. The pain has gotten better since going to a Chiropractor though so all I can recommend for you is try em out & if you do decide to order one, return it within the trial period (if applicable) if you don't feel comfortable in a couple weeks. Unfortunately I'm stuck with mine as that time frame is past & there literally aren't any other adjustable options in the sub $300 price range. Most of the stuff in Staples or Office Max I've heard is extremely cheap so don't expect anything from there to last past a year. Personally the next time I get a chair it's gonna be a Steel Case Leap, even if I have to sell everything I own (again) to get it.

Bought a DX racer like 5 years ago, and it's only just starting to look a little used. So it's been holding up pretty well considering the amount of usage, and by far the longest lasting chair I've had. Only slight annoyance is that the buttom seat isn't flat.

Yeah thats fair. Just though maybe because of the stupid looking design they might offer something special. Thanks
