Frayed earbud cord repair?

So I have a pair of sennheiser cx 5. 00g's and the wire next to the jack area is starting to fray slightly. They still work(mostly, they occasionally get garbled and I have to plug them in and out to fix it). How can I fix this without using tape or soldering?

Well what you do with no soldering is you go out and buy your self a new pair.

or manage to use the warranty but the box has no information or paperwork about that aspect

Sennheiser or the shop you bought it from. Just google their phone number
