Blue screen pc restart

Hi everyone!

I have build my pc recently and up till now no problems at all

for all other games that i was playing I didn´t had any problems

warcraft III, northguard, subnautica, surviving mars, civilization VI.......

but now that I have started playing DOOM

I have had already two or  three times a blue screen that resets my computer

I have no idea on what can be the problem

my build is:

processor I7 8700k

Ram 32GB Gskill 3600

water cooler 280mm corsair

windows installed nvme ssd m.2 samsung 250GB

games installed 6TB hdd 7200 rpm toshiba

case corsair 780t

graphic card GTX 1080TI asus strix

monitors are 2 asus 4 28", but only using one monitor to play and the other one to read guides while playing the game

thanks everybody

Um...I'm thinking drivers... Or what about a memtest86 run.

Is it just blue screen during DOOM or for anything at any random time?

i have to google what memtest86 run is

but yes I have only had it with doom so far

and i dont think that the problem is because my hardware isn´t capable enough to rum it on ultra in 4k

but i could lower the graphics to test...........

but there is no lag at all while playing

everything is smoothly until

baaaaaaaaang

blue screen and the computer reset by its own

I have not done any special overclocking either

at the bios menu i have used the menu from asus it self

to select the performance mode

didnt do anything also in there because i didnt feel confident to do so

maybe in the future when the pc start to be outdated then

ill play with some overclocking and perhaps adding a second graphic card

but for now pretty happy with the pc

except for this crashing thing that start happening after i started playing doom

around two days ago

What Asus options did you enable or disable in the BIOS?

in the bios menu

since i have build the pc

i have only changed one configuration

in the menu it self there is an option that you can leave everathing like it is

or increase the performance

then i seletected a higher performance

didn´t change anything also

And I'm running this test tool for over  2h and no problems with the sticks

I'll let it run a little longer to see if something might happen

But I guess the Ram sticks are fine

You could, After two passes while still could be the issue, might consider drivers now. Have you tried a reinstall of windows?

@RedAV8R and play the game again and see if the problem persists  do you think that the  problem could be with the game as i dont have problems with any other application?

Says memory or driver issue...could be DOOM is using something driver wise that others don't. Make sure you've updated all your drivers.

@RedAV8R it seems that the problem is solved

i played one level and no blue screen

tomorrow ill playing a little longer

if even after maybe 2hours no problem

then the problem was with gpu drivers or windows update

lets see ;D

but thanks for all the assistance

@RedAV8R  it has just happened again ;(
but at least it happened after maybe 2h playing

ill try play something also to see if the problem is really only with that game

or if it happens after a while playing........

could I damage my hardware by getting this blue screen often?

Not likely, if it is hardware that's causing the issue it's already toast. You might consider running that memtest86 overnight see if you can get anything to pop up over 8 hours or so.

@RedAV8R thanks man!

ill do that tonight and report it tomorrow

if it´s hardware of some sort i have to see it

because even though i was the one building it

the peaces are all new and i will replace the parts

as they are still on the warranty time

Yeah, and if it's memory, a lot of manufacturers have lifetime replacement so...

Otherwise, boogered drivers, or boogered windows. You might try using an older version of the windows nvidia drivers, say 1-2 versions back, see what happens.
