Which Phone

AdmiralMeowmix

So after some time I narrowed my choices probably down to the Pixel Xl, the LG v20, Samsung Galaxy S6, and the Moto G5S+.

Which of these phones would be the best option? If there's one better for a ismilar price range that can be founde refurbished or cheaper than say $300 then please iform me, it also HAS to work with sprint.

All of those phones are way over $300...Are you looking at buying used or monthly loan?

Used/refurbished they're under $300 or at least around it.

I have had the pixel XL for about 18 months and have loved every minute of it. It should also have one of the longer support time for updates out of the listed choices.

I would suggest you look into the Moto X Pure eddition. You can get one for around $300, and if you get it Through Motorola they have a warenty program for $50 extra where they will replace your phone three times with no charge for most accidents.

I bought the 16gb model for $350 a few years ago with the warenty. Great phone, even though its age is definitly showing. The warent made it worth it though. I dropped it twice, both times the screen stopped working. In less than a week a I had a new phone in my hands. Overall I technically had three different physical phones, all for $400 and you could get it for even cheaper now. Highly recommended for budget.

Thought the Pixel is a ridiculously nice phone, but its super expensive. To me its not worth it, but to each their own.

Ya I got mine through verizon with a $17/month bill credit and and additional 2gb/month for 2 years. So I was kind of shielded from the full $800 price tag.

Pixel because if you are looking to keep your phone for awhile it is the only one that is keeping constant system updates. (which in my opinion is the biggest weakness of Android phones). Security flaws found are not a bad thing, it is the inability to patch/fix them that is a big problem....

Unless you get into Custom Roms, which can be a serious headache. Custom Roms are custom Operating Systems, generally based on android.

I've been using AICP Custom Rom on my Moto X for almost a year now. It definitly has its issues but it hasnt been that bad. They have been good with updates. Better than being stuck with Android 6.

Sorry. It was $17 off the monthly device payment of $32. I still have the $25 line access and data package that me and my siblings split the cost of. It is still a $400 savings off the original price of the phone as long as i don't pay it off early. Apparently when verizon ran the promo it killed them in revenue due to it being way more popular than they expected, there was a 4-6 week wait time to get the phone once i ordered it at the time.

Custom ROMs are about trust as well, requires a lot of research and trust into Rom developers. Also Google has been cracking down on ROMs by limiting certain features like Google Pay on ROMs. (of course this only matters to those that use it, I do use Google Pay on my Pixel 2)

Oh Gosh, $32/mo over two years is $768. Anyway, this is off topic.

Generally paying monthly doesn't get you a better deal.

I know it is, the seller is a corporation/store that's been around since 2001. I assume asking why they stopped using the phone would just net me a generic answer.

It could be because the phone didnt work, had some sort of issue. Or its perfectly normal, and its just a good deal. Those phones go around $300 used.

Looked into the seller some and apparently they are a brown box seller, meaning they open the box to unlock the phone (and probably in some cases modify it to work with other carriers) then put it back in the box to sell it. Their reviews seem to be consistently great and most negative reviewers modify their reviews after customer service and people on other websites have bought phones that were flawless and was what was listed exactly.

I have messaged the seller asking if they could verify the phones integrity to ensure it's not damaged and scratched and if possible verify it is the model of phone listed. I'll hopefully hear back from them tomorrow or soon.

Out of that list I'd go with the Pixel XL.

If you're paying monthly though, just wait a few months. The Pixel 2 XL should go for an awesome price once the new one is released.

It's not that hard to believe, that phone is almost two generations old. Wasn't the V20 also part of the bootlooping issue?

That'd make me stay away from those phones. Plus it got pretty shitty battery life.

I believe at this point the bootlooping is fixed even so I back stuff up and keep most of my important stuff on an SD card so if it boot loops I can get it fixed. The battery is also replaceable and it'll be better than my current phone which goes from 100% to like 20% after an hour or so's worth of being on the internet on it.
