High voltage?

Go to solution Solved by Neftex,

i think it looks good, you can try stress testing, if its not stable say in prime95, you can try to bump the voltage a little

one thing to note with manual voltage is that it doesnt react on idle/load, i dont know if thats a big deal for you

Is this why im getting high temps while using prime 95? can someone check my voltages? and i have xmp on in bios, should i turn it off?

You don't run prime on anything newer than Ivy Bridge. Try aida64. What Temps are you getting? Overclocked?

58C is definitely not high at all, what is your CPU clockspeed? What is your RAM running at? 1.38V does look quite high. I would definitely not go over 1.4V on heavy liquid cooling, but 1.38 is still very high.

You should have your voltage on Auto in the UEFI BIOS. It definitely should not be at 1.38V. Maybe you are getting incorrect readings, check what you get in the UEFI BIOS.

Don't. Run. Prime.

What cooler are you using?

What RAM do you have and what is it frequency?

As mentioned above, run Aida64s built in stress test, don't run Prime95.

Voltages are too high if you haven't overclocked. Stock should be around 1.15v - 1.20 (at least that's what my 6700k runs at without overclock)

Why? I’ve run it on my 6th gen i5 for not too long periods before. It maxes out my puny stock cooler though

That's an F in the profile pic

You can try to reset UEFI BIOS just to make sure that the settings are fine. Go to Advanced Mode (F7) and go to exit, and click Load Optimized Defaults.

After that, restart into Windows, then restart back into UEFI BIOS and enable XMP. If it asks about Enhanced ASUS something something, click No to standard Intel operation. Reboot back into Windows and see if anything changed.

I might be looking at this wrong, but are you running 2133MHz modules at 3000MHz? If so, then yes, turn off XMP.
Switch in to advanced mode (F7) and go in to the CPU settings and making sure the voltage is set to auto.

Did you completely reset the UEFI BIOS? You can also try updating the UEFI BIOS to the latest version, and then reset the settings again. You need to restart after resetting for the changes to take effect.

If you haven't already, save the settings, exit BIOS, and restart the computer then check the voltages again. Sometimes the changes won't show while you're still in the BIOS.

OK, did you make sure to Load Optimized Settings and then save and restart, then check the voltages again?

thats after i did load the optimization to default without xmp on. and the voltage is wavering now between 0.883 and 1.351 and it keeps doing that.

Interesting, and it still is around 1.3V in the UEFI BIOS? If so, then you might just not have the best luck when it comes to CPU binning. If the temperatures are fine and it runs fine then there is nothing to worry about. You can now enable XMP again so that you get the best performance from your RAM.
