I highly recommend the helios 300. You should really watch this review. This laptop is really budget oriented and well rounded.

Both are good choices, so it largely depends on personal preference and the pricing in your region. I must however clarify that I own an Inspiron 7000 and haven't dealt with the Helios 300 personally

Helios 300 has OKish CPU cooling due to outdated cooling design. Dell 7577 is better despite Max-Q 1060 (can be tuned further). Also consider N850HP6 and N950KP6 (desktop CPU) with repaste. Y520 (1060 Max-Q 6GB) and Y720 can be a good buy too if you can find them under 1000.
