Unless you need a particular feature that's exclusive to the xeon, you'd be better off selling the 4670k to and get better performance with a 4770k or 4790k. The e3-1230 v3 which is probably the mode widely available won't provide much if any performance over a moderately oc'ed 4670k. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Xeon-E3-1230-v3-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4690K/m2171vs2432

There's a bit more of a difference with the e3-1276 v3 but it's not worth the price compared to the i7. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Xeon-E3-1276-v3-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4690K/m25180vs2432

Hi there. My first time here on the forum :D.

I am looking for a Xeon CPU that will fit into my motherboard socket, 1150. I am currently running an ASRock Z87M motherboard, with a be quiet! Pure Rock Slim coming soon and 16GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM.

Anyone know of any Xeon's under $25 USD for this platform?

Cheers, TJ

What cpu do you have and why do you want a xeon? Most xeon e3 v3's you'll find online are ~$100-150 on eBay and hardwareswap. You'd have to be very lucky to find one for under $25.

At that budget you have to be very lucky to even find an i3. I only expect a Pentium or Celeron for that money.

I have an i5 4670K right now. I wanted to have a spare xeon just in case I wanted to be a server for a day.

What kind of server? Why not just use the 4670k?
