HPZ200 won't boot past network adaptor setup.

Inrix

It boots fine without the broadcom network adaptor in it but as soon as I add it it hangs on this screen... Any ideas? 20180331_120808.thumb.jpg.edbce68dc4d595d76e4d391a10f8c08b.jpg

Have you tried putting the card in a different slot on the mobo?

Ok, from what you said earlier, I'm thinking the machine boots if you pull the card.  Correct?  If so, my next step would be to pull the card, reboot and start the machine.  Provided the machine does boot without the card, have you tried downloading the drivers for the card and installing them without the card being in the machine?  If you can do that, then give it a shot.  Install the drivers, shut the machine down, install the card, and then try to boot and see what happens.  At least that would be the steps that I would take.  Can't say it will fix the problem, just saying that would be the way that I would tackle it at this point in time.  Good luck and let us know what happens.

It's not a driver issue since it won't go into the boot menu. It just gets to right before it attempts to boot and then locks ip while it's in the bios.

At this time in the game, my next step would be to reset the BIOS.  Shut off the machine, turn off the power supply and unplug the power cord from the back.  Now remove the battery from the mobo, looks like a nickel laying down in there.  Once you remove the battery, press the power on/off button on the front of the case a few times.  This will drain any capacitors that are still holding a charge on the mobo.

Once you have done all that, go ahead and reinsert the battery.  Make sure that you get the polarity on the batter correct when reinstalling.  Positive goes down.  Once the battery is reinstalled, you can go ahead and plug the cord in to the back of the machine and turn it on.  When it boots up, and it should boot up, the machine will tell you the BIOS has been reset and you need to accept the changes, etc.

The machine should reboot at this time and should go ahead and go into Windows.  Give it a shot and let us know how goes.

I can boot without the card and the bios works fine. It only locks up when the card is installed

Have you tried the card in a different machine to check if the card is dead?  If you put the card in to a different machine and you get the same results that you get in your machine, then my money is on the card is dead (muerto).  If you put the card in to a different machine and it works, that's called FM and it is way above my pay grade at this point.

It looks like the mobo is loading the PXE boot ROM from the ethernet card and then failing for some reason.

Have you tried disabling everything related to PXE in the BIOS?

I have an HP Z220 which is similar but the firmware may be different so the directions here may not be entirely accurate.

Hold down F10 at boot to open the Setup Utility, and disable the following:

Security > Network Boot
Advanced > Option ROM Launch Policy > PXE Option ROMs
Advanced > Device Options > NIC PXE Option ROM Download
Advanced > Slot Settings > Slot N Option ROM Download

Where N is the PCI(e) slot your NIC is slotted into, then try saving changes and rebooting.

Desktop: HP Z220 Workstation, 12 GB RAM, 2x500 GB HDD RAID0, + GTX 1060 3GB

Laptop: ThinkPad T430, 8 GB RAM, 1x120 GB SSD
