Ram, would go with 1x 16GB, leaving room for more sticks for upgrade when and if needed.. and also is faster at 3200 https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/VcTrxr/gskill-memory-f43200c16s16gvk

why 8700?

Id go with a used dual lga 2011 system, much more ram, cheaper, offical esxi support, more cpu power.

Look for a dell r720.

With esxi you normally want a hadware raid card if you want raid.

Id get a better ssd like a 860 evo or pro.

Servers like that tend to be loud and obnoxious.

Id personally get a cheap Chinese x79 board and a Xeon E5-2680.

they are, but you can just shove it in a closet.

Also the r720's really aren't that bad for a rack server, like louder desktop noise, not normal server.

And if you want a normal desktop you can get a t620 for a tower.

I will not do RAID, but I will in future when I get more money and get bigger and better server

I forgot to mention I am pulling out RAM from my rig & I'll for sure look for upgrade so I can have my 32 GB's of RAM. That kit in specs is until I get 1x 16 GB stick

Was more of a response to "why purple drives?".

Just be sure to use some sort of routine error checking on the Purples if you are using them for normal data, they ignore fouled reads.

Prices for that thing are insane around 3000 euros which I cannot afford atm.

I got ssd for 20 euros and I need only to start VMware ESXi and have VHD's for VM boot drives.

They idle about about 120w depending on ram and drives, max load is about 300.

Id get more ram, 16 is very low for your use.

59.00 EUR shipping perfection.

There are no feedback from people for that and I am not confident for giving that amount of money to seller.

Also where can I put my 3.5" drives ?

E5-2680 V2, 10c/20t, 115w, ~$150 on e-bay

X79 Board, unbeanded, ~$130 on ebay, looks like this...

Put it in whatever case you want.

Is it avaliable on german ebay cause I don't want to add 50% of price cause of import and taxes ?

It kinda looks sketchy I would rather look for something like ASUS.

Looks like an OEM board TBH.

Use ebay.de and see what you can find for x79 motherboards.

Most will come from China unfortunately.

https://www.ebay.de/itm/NEW-X79-LGA-2011-ATX-Intel-Motherboard-DDR3-REG-ECC-RAM-USB-3-i7-CPU-E5-2670/123006173057?hash=item1ca3bd3f81:g:xpsAAOSwe7lZ5QuN

Used ASUS X79 boards look to be 299eur.

Heres an ASRock one...
