Are 16:9 1080p 24" monitors considered bad these days?

Wondering weather to get 2

Some would argue that the pixel density is too low at 24", but that's just based on opinion. My 27" inch 1080p display is fine for me, but some people think it's too "pixelated".

For work? No they arent. Cheaper to get 4 of these than 1 big 4K/1440p ultrawide monitor, when it comes to screen size.

 

For games? I live with 22" 1080p monitor so I can get along with it. Having 2 is a bad idea though since having the middle of the games screen chopped into two is the worst for any gamer, especially FPS gamers.

Yeah. I would only play the game on one monitor and may play some youtube videos on the other.

Are they considered bad/budget now days though? I am looking at a 144hz monitor btw

I prefer an ultrawide personally, at 2560x1080 it's around 1 and a half 1080 screens, but to me at least seems fine for gaming, although I don't game that frequently on it. For working and multi-tasking ti's excellent and can't imagine not having it like that now. I have an LG UM68-p I think it is, 29" and is around £230 or so is all.. or was when I bought mine.

I just want to add on and say that having two for productivity is really good but for gaming, you probably want to stay away from two monitors (Because of that big and annoying bezel in the middle). You might want to use one of your monitors for gaming and another for your work at the same time perhaps.

i bet it has a 60hz refreshrate though. I guess i would rather have 2 monitors, 1 144hz than a untrawide which is only 60hz

Yeah that's what I was thinking. So I will get a 144hz 1080p monitor for gaming alongside a 60hz 1080p monitor for multitasking ect. Powered by a gtx 1080. Do you think that is good?

Depends on how much they cost and whether it's TN or IPS or VA. The former is bad, especially on the cheaper 60Hz ones.

Well, I don't like them for one, so not an unbiased opinion... for me it's mostly the size though, not the 16:9 ratio.. I would be looking at maybe 28/29" screens if going for dual screens personally.

but then 1080p will look grainy so i guess i will just go with what I said

Will not look grainy, it's still 1080 pixels vertically.. but it's up to you.

i think i will go with 24" because also it is apparently better for gaming because you can see more on the screen without moving your head or without being too far back because moving back wouldn't work because of my bad eye sight. thanks tho
