I hope its working because they from NVidia said to me now on LiceChat: for SLI requires exactly the same clocks, and that can lead to errors, or even not work properly.

Both cards will come to an agreement of clock frequency under SLI.

It'll work just fine, assuming you can get SLI to work with anything.

It should work as they're both the same chips, as pointed out before and the clocks should sort themselves out. The fastest card will clock down to match the slower one.

The biggest problem you can get with cards from different manufactures is maybe the hard SLI bridge not fitting, but that could be fixed with flexible ones should it occur.

Why not just buy two of the same?

All you need is the same GPU and VRAM count.

MSI, EVGA, ASUS will all work together. As long as the underlying GPU and VRAM is the same.

For instance: You CANNOT SLi a 1060 GB and a 1060 3GB since they have differing VRAM amounts and that the GPU core has a different core count among other things.

You CAN (in your case): SLi both of those GTX 1070s since they have the same core count and VRAM amounts. GPU clocks does not matter. PCB design does not matter. Board partner does not matter.

Just remember: As long as the GPU core and VRAM amount is the same you can SLi them as long as it's supported.

Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. They are both GP104 chips, that's all SLI cares about.
