As far as I know, there is no app that can tell you how long an HDD will last just like you can't get an app that will tell you when the next part on your car will break. You just can't predict that exactly. But if your tires state they'll last 20,000 miles and you've driven for 10,000, you could assume they have 10,000 more miles left. There is a guaranteed life cycle on HDDs but I don't know how far along into it your HDD is and even if you could that's not concrete proof of when the HDD will fail as it could last much longer or maybe even die sooner unexpectedly.

Pretty much pick the newer drive if you really want the best possible reliability scenario, if not, pick the largest capacity drive.

Crystal Disk Info will give you the disk SMART info, but won't necessarily tell you which one will last longer unless it has errors. I agree with picking the newer or larger capacity drive.

As Blademaster91 said. If both are the same RPM (preferably 7200) just use the larger one, otherwise use the faster one.

HDD tune (http://www.hdtune.com/) has a simple to use interface with a tab for health as well if it's gonna bother you.

One software you could use is our free diagnostic tool SeaTools. Basically you want to go with whichever drive is in the healthiest shape and always, always back up your data with any hard drive.
