So I recently purchased a 4K Samsung tv and I have a few problems with gaming on it. So before I got the tv I was using some cheap HP monitor to game and it worked perfectly fine for me.

But now that I hooked up my PS4 to my tv I'm noticing some problems with the gameplay (I mainly run fortnite now). When I was playing on my monitor I was pretty good at the game and aiming and stuff like that, I could easily use a shotgun and aim and pop people with it but on my tv the sensitivity is a bit weirder (it was kept the same) and turning and stuff and just overall playing, everything is a bit choppier on the tv, Recently I got into a gunfight and I completely s**t the bed. I shot over 10 shotgun rounds but none of them were even close to hitting. So in general my aiming is worse and its harder to play on the tv compared to the monitor.

Am I just tripping or is there a problem with my tv or something? Since it is 4K it was pretty expensive compared to the HP monitor which is not a gaming monitor and its pretty low end but for some reason its better to play on the monitor. Why is this?

Thanks.

It's because you're using a television. Set the settings to something like "Game Mode" (or an equivalent) to minimize image processing and input lag. That's why everyone says don't game on a TV.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

Enable any game mode or PC mode stuff.

For samsung TVs you need to rename the HDMI1 input to "PC"

Also, why are you gaming at 4k with a console....

Also, your muscle memory is trained to what I assume is a smaller display. It will take time for you to get used to the large form factor of a TV and retrain yourself to that scale. Even a change in motion and color performance will affect your senses and reflexes.

The higher input lag, and other latencies that TV's have compared to common computer monitors.

This is why I can't aim for shiiet on console shooters.

Yeah I went to the settings and I couldnt find game mode but there are options for the HDMi and I chose "Game Console" and it seems to be better. Should I leave it on that or is "PC" better?
