Fortnite cant Cross platform

ok i know this is not the best place to ask but i couldn't think of anywhere else.

 

Ive been trying to cross play fortnite on xbox and pc but it wont seem to work.

ive added the xbox account as a friend and when i try to join it says the xbox is platform locked at needs to enable cross platform in the settings, which is supposed to be at the bottom of the games tab but all i see is streamer settings.

apparently i should have got a pop up about it on the xbox, but i didnt. 

ive tried 2 other accounts and restarting both devices but nothing.

 

anyone know what to do..

yes but ive been waiting for a day and a half so i was just asking in the mean time

Go down to the cross-play section in their FAQ, maybe that'll shed some light

ive had a look but nothing only the steps ive tried but didnt work
