Is my RAM going kaput?

So, I've noticed that ZEUS has been "lagging" our every 10-20 minutes or so. I've tested everything but the RAM and GPU (swapping things in and out that I know are good). I've come up with some theories on what the issue could be.

 

A. The RAM is not seated properly

B. The socket/RAM contacts are dirty

C. The socket is dying/dead

D. The RAM is dying/dead

 

Which do you think it is (there is a poll so it's easier on me).

Looking at the specs, anything even everything could be going kaput!

Welp, you should test with 1 dimm at a time and in every slot. For my mobo, I know for a fact the first ram slot isn't working. (most likely damaged traces from all the moving she had to endure), but the other 3 are fine.

Worked fine just a couple of days ago. Playing Alien Swarm at 800x600 medium settings with so issue, now it hates playing it at all. I even dropped in my old Williamette P4 and it made no difference in the game.

It's probably dusty. DDR was usually pretty reliable, so I doubt that it's dying unless you have overclocked it hard.

Download MEMTEST86+ and let it run overnight, see if it finds any issues.

I'm just sad that my first stick of SDRAM (64MB) was so dead that only 14MB was (mathematically) usable. It was stored in a very, very, VERY warm and moist place, which is what I'm assuming that (paired up with time) killed it. And I wouldn't let it go all night since the damn thing is too loud and sucks up to much electricity.

Yah dude, your rigs are getting out of date, its probably one of the ram sockets or the ram it self. My rig which im building tomorrow Was $589.44 from NCIX, i would salvage both rigs and build a newer pc

Cleaned it and switched it to the cleanest socket, and it's still messing up.

btw dude, im 16 im 2 months so im in high school too, when i want some thing i just sell my old crap and save up. You could update the bios and maybe clean the heat sink and add more thermal compound. the cpu could be over heating
